Why I’m Running

People over Politics

I’m running for Larimer County treasurer to continue my public service to the community I call home and love for over 35 years. I will bring my 12 years of experience and skills representing Fort Collins and Larimer County at the State Capitol to our local government. You have put your trust in me as your State Representative in the House District 52 for 6 years, and as your State Senator in Senate District 14 for 6 years. It has been my great honor to serve our beautiful community and now I am asking for your support in my new campaign for Larimer County Treasurer in November 2026.

As your State Senator, I served as Chair of the Senate Local Government Committee. I worked with our local County and City officials on issues such as land use, property taxes, the unexpected devastation of our county due to fires and floods, as well as public safety concerns.

I have been Chair of the Police and Firefighter Pension Commission. I have also served on the PERA Pension Review Committee as well as the Health Insurance and Exchange Oversight Committee and the Statewide Healthcare Review Committee. These committees deal with very important financial decisions that affect many citizens of Larimer County.

Prior to entering the Colorado Legislature, I worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry. I know the value of team work. I started my 20 year career in sales, where I was one of the top 10 sales representatives in the U.S. for several years and achieving the #1 position. I was advanced to leadership positions in specialty sales, hospitals and sales training. After earning my doctorate, I was promoted to the high level team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSL) where I worked for several companies in Womens Health, Cardiology and Neurology. I trained many new employees as an MSL in my clinical areas of expertise.

I have the business experience to manage a team and a strong background from the state legislature to tackle and learn the financial responsibilities of this very important position. I have worked with our current County Treasurer, Irene Josey, for many years at the Capitol on bills related to County issues.

I have the upmost respect for all she has done as the Larimer County Treasurer and will reach out for her advise when needed. You are only as strong as your team and there is an exceptional staff at the treasurer’s office who I look forward to working with to keep continuity and have a seamless transition to County Treasurer. I would be honored to be a part of Larimer County’s leadership team and work with my colleagues to improve our county’s governance effort as a whole. I will serve county residents and taxpayers at the highest level they expect and deserve.
